What makes it so unique is the fact that it takes place indoor with full, long throwing in the three disciplines discus, javelin and shotput. The event will take place in Växjö, Sweden on March 10-11 2012, and are focused on lifting forward throwing athletes and give them the opportunity to compete in their events during the “off season” also.   We welcome throwers all over the world to participate in a weekend of remembrance and will provide you with a competition of professional, high-level and international standard. The competition is fully sanctioned by IAAF and the Swedish Athletics Federation. Why a indoor throwing competition in the city of Växjö? “I want to stimulate Swedish throwers by giving them the opportunity to compete with world athletes at least once a year”, says Vésteinn Hafsteinsson of Global Throwing. World Indoor Throwing are held at the Tipshallen Arena in the city of Växjö. It´s a indoor arena which provides the possibilities for a numerous kinds  of sport activities, musical concerts, exhibitions and more. It consists of three premises and the main premise measures 105 x 65m in the open area. 1500 people can be seated and watch the action. The restaurant with its glass panoramic view over the main arena can hold up to 150 people. There are several restrooms, locker rooms, adjacent warm-up areas, VIP lounge and a media lounge.
